As we work towards payment tracking, deposits are something that shops would like to know how to mark on proposals so they can send out updated totals.
Like payments there is not yet a specific location for doing this, however we can use the following method to keep track and update the totals properly to send to clients while we continue development.
First make a new line item in the proposal, in the description put Deposit or something similar so you know its a paid deposit. Next change the quantity to negative 1 (type the minus symbol and then a 1) and enter the amount of the deposit.
You will see the totals at the bottom of the edit are updated showing an amount less this negative you just added. Now Save the proposal and you can send out the proposal with the proper updated Amount Remaining, as the PDF and print preview will show this updated total after saving.
Please note: you still need to process this payment how you normally would, as this is not processing a payment just recording of one.
