If your tax code requires the sales tax applied to the order be based on where the order is being delivered, here's how to set up the 'Sales Tax by Destination' feature.
How it works:
The POS will look at the zip code of the recipient on the order and apply the tax rate you've setup for that zip code. Note if you enter an incorrect zip code, the system may not apply the correct tax rate since it is looking it up by zip code. However, you can always change the tax rate on the Take Order screen or completed order if the system defaults to an incorrect tax rate.
How to Setup:
1. Enable. Go to Settings > Tax > Sales Tax by Destination > Set this to Yes and Save.
2. Enter tax rates. Go to Settings > Manage Tax Rates > Add New > Enter all tax rates you need with correct state.
3. Enter Delivery Charges. Go to Settings > Delivery Charge > Enter all zip codes you service along with the tax rate for that zip code.
