A vanity email is any email hosted at your domain instead of your internet service provider (ISP) or email provider. Examples include info@bestflowers.com or anything@yourdomain.com.

Vanity emails look more professional to customers than @gmail.com or @yahoo.com emails, and are easier to remember.

If you have a Floranext website, be sure to provide us with the MX Records supplied by your email client to ensure your vanity email will continue to work.

What you'll need:

  • A domain
  • An email client (It's common to use the registrar of your domain, typically registrars also provide an email client to use). The email client will provide you with a way to check emails sent to your vanity email address. Popular email clients include:
    • GoDaddy
    • Network Solutions
    • Hover
    • Outlook
    • Gmail

The email client you choose provides records for mail exchange (MX records) to add to your DNS. If you have a Floranext website, let us know which email client you'll be using and we can add the MX records to your domain hosting to transfer your email. If your website is hosted and managed elsewhere, you will need to provide that host your email client's MX records.

For Floranext web customers, the following are some DNS records for common email clients.

Network Solutions

MX record:
Priority 10     inbound.domainname.netsolmail.net

CNAME record:
mail.domainname.netsolmail.net
smtp.domainname.netsolmail.net

NOTE - if this is for nyflowers.com the value would be mail.nyflowers.com.netsolmail.net

GoDaddy

MX record:

0 smtp.secureserver.net
10 mailstore1.secureserver.net
